Marilyn Simpson graduated with a degree in Elementary Education in 1980 and a Masters in Special Education in 1986. She has taught children in the Elementary schools and preschools for over 25 years. She has been the Administrator of Shining Stars Preschool since 2002 and assumed the position of Directorin 2014. She has been married for 35 years to her husband, Brad, and they have four grown children, a daughter-in-law and one beautiful granddaughter.

Kim Warrick is the Kindergarden Readiness teacher for Shining Stars Preschool. She has been in that position for the last 11 years. She also taught the 3 year old class for about 4 years. Before that, she was a stay at home mom and a Building Substitute Teacher for the Kansas City, MO School District. She received her college education from Tennessee State University. Kim has been working at the preschool since it's inception. Kim has been married to her husband Malvin for 30 years and they have three grown children.

Tammie Miner has been a teacher with Shining Stars for the past 15 years. Her education includes many classes in Early Education. She has worked with children for over 27 years. She has developed and implemented curriculum for preschool and church settings. She currently also oversees the children’s ministry of the Kansas City Church of Christ with her husband, Kevin, of 32 years. They have two daughters, one son and two son-in-laws. Her desire is to make each child feel safe and to have a fun environment to grow and learn in during their early years of education.

Shelly Francis has been a teacher at Shining Stars for 15 years. She has taught the Lunch Bunch program for 15 years, the 2 year old program for 8 years and has assisted in both the 3 and 4 year old classes. She is married and has two grown daughters and was a Girl Scout Leader for 11 years for both girls. She loves spending time with children and watching their eyes light up as they learn and make new discoveries.
